“Take Time to Think” Campaign for Safer Gambling Launched in UK
The campaign encourages customers to use the wide range of safer gambling tools offered by the body’s members, the BGC states in a press release. It comes after their previous safer gambling campaign, “When The Fun Stops, Stop”.
Funded by BGC members, including William Hill, Entain, bet365, Flutter, a series of TV adverts will launch and operators will include the messaging across their online and retail businesses.
Michael Dugher, CEO of the BGC, said:
“I am absolutely delighted that our members have signed up to this fantastic campaign.
Millions of people enjoy a flutter and the overwhelming majority do so perfectly safely and responsibly. But that doesn’t prevent the regulated industry from continuing to do more to promote ever higher standards in safer gambling.”
The new campaign was developed after considerable customer research and engagement with academics, Government stakeholders and operators, finding out the most effective way to encourage responsible betting. This includes the U.K. Gambling Commission, GambleAware, GamCare and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Brigid Simmonds, chairman of the BGC, said:
“‘Take Time to Think’ is another step on our journey to keep customers safe and ensure that we are not encouraging vulnerable people to gamble beyond their means. It is a positive campaign which I hope will be supported by our customers.”
Conor Grant, chief executive officer of Flutter UK and Ireland, commented:
“Together with the wider industry, we are pleased to support the BGC’s Take Time to Think campaign, which aims to positively impact awareness and usage of the range of safer gambling tools available to customers.”
Grainne Hurst, director of corporate affairs at Entain, committed their company’s efforts to ensuring its customers have an enjoyable experience in support of the campaign.
