GGPoker announced today that poker pro and one one of the world’s most successful poker players, Jason Koon, has joined their GGTeam as its latest Global Ambassador.

Originally from West Virginia and formerly with Partypoker, Koon is 10th on the All Time Money List, with over $32M in live tournament cashes, including multiple high roller tournament victories.

Other GGTeam Global Ambassadors include Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Dan Bilzerian and Fedor Holz, who all represent GGPoker live and online.

Koon will focus on strengthening the poker room’s security and game integrity efforts, as well as acting as an advocate for high roller, VIP and high-volume players. GGPoker views this as essential in ensuring that VIP needs are given due consideration at all times by management.

Jason Koon said:

“I’m really excited to join GGPoker, particularly so soon after they’ve taken a leading role in the poker world. I’m also thrilled to be in a position to help with game security and player advocacy, making GGPoker an even better place to play our favorite game!”

John Scanlon, Director of Sponsorships & Live Events at GGPoker, John Scanlon, added:

“At GGPoker, we view ambassadors as part of our overall team. We want them as bought into keeping GGPoker the #1 site in the world as we are. Jason’s reputation and how he handles himself personally and professionally makes him an ideal Global Ambassador. Having a player of his calibre providing advice and direction, and representing the most committed segment of our player community, is invaluable for us.”

GGPoker recently acquired a Dutch Gaming Licence and will effectively look to scoop up players that PokerStars had to leave behind in the Netherlands, after it pulled out of the Netherlands market on Friday October 1.
