Ahead of Cardano’s much anticipated Alonzo mainnet launch on September 12, Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the token, took to Twitter to comment on recent criticism doing rounds on social media.
While criticism and FUD is nothing new for them, the third largest crypto network has had to put up with attacks of which the latest to come from Anthony Sassano, co-founder of Ethhub.io who believes that Cardano’s blockchain is “broken“.
As expected, there is a massive FUD storm underway. We saw the same with Shelley last year. It’s nothing new. Just people wanting to burn down what they don’t understand or feel threatened by. September 12th is a big day, but just a day on a long journey we are all on together.

In addition to Hoskinson’s response, Cardano’s developing team, IOHK, shared the following update ahead of September 12.
Awesome effort as ever from the #Cardano stake pool operator community over the weekend to get #ReadyForAlonzo. Currently according to the stats over at our friends @PooltoolI, some 64% of pools have now upgraded to the 1.29.0 #Alonzo node.
Now let’s keep pushing!

The Alonzo upgrade is expected to open up opportunities for businesses and developers, by allowing the creation of smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps) for decentralized finance (DeFi). With this, Cardano is looking to gear up its competition with Ethereum in this field.
