Bitcoin is a “mathematical miracle”, Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak says

Making his appearance at the Talent Land Jalisco 2021, Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak confirmed to be a fan of Bitcoin and called it “ the most amazing mathematical miracle.”

Although he is not a large investor in Bitcoin, Wozniak did say he “believes in it for the future”.

Speaking at the Talent Land Jalisco 2021 event this week, Wozniak highlighted that while he is not invested in Bitcoin, it is still a very profound invention. More than two million people heard Wozniak speak at the digital event, dedicated to the development of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship projects.

Apple’s cofounder stressed the stressed the strength of Bitcoin over other traditional inflationary hedges such as precious metals suggesting that, unlike Bitcoin, “gold is limited and you have to look for it”.

Back in August 2018, when Wozniak was working with a crypto startup he was already positive about Bitcoin and had said:

“It’s so independent. It’s kind of like the internet when it was brand new… I was amazed at the technology behind it.”

Even prior to that he had told an audience at the Nordic Business Forum in Sweden that he was still keeping his cool with the cryptocurrency:

“I had bitcoin to experiment with and when it shot up high, I said, ‘I don’t want to become one of those people that watches it, watches it and cares about the number.’”


Steve Wozniak also has a cryptocurrency that holds his name. The asset called WOZX was developed by Wozniak in collaboration with the Efforce team and Wozniak. WOZX was developed “as the energy savings token to allow contributors of the Efforce platform to benefit from the energy savings generated by efficiency projects worldwide.”

WOZX has a market cap of around $80 million and is currently trading $0.6939 at according to CoinMarketCap data.
